About us
TIDALWAVSE is a group of students who have not only chosen to be chemically free for ALL of high school but also feel confident sharing their reasons for their choice with their peers.
TIDALWAVSE is a group of students who are committed to working with community officials and area schools to facilitate chemical free programming/prevention efforts. ie: drug awareness week, sticker shock, World Cafe discussions etc.
TIDALWAVSE is not a support group for those who are trying not to use substances.
TIDALWAVSE meetings are conducted in a safe, confidential environment where members can feel comfortable sharing the ups and downs of membership.
TIDALWAVSE members agree that in addition to their commitment not to use they also pledge not to do anything that in any way promotes underage drinking or drug use (nobody in your social circle should have any questions about your position in regards to substance use).
TIDALWAVSE members understand that their commitment to TIDALWAVSE is fulfilled at the end of project graduation.
TIDALWAVSE members who are suspected of drug use will be confronted immediately and no issue will be swept under the rug. Any confirmed use will result in immediate dismissal from the group.
TIDALWAVSE members must remain in good academic standing at all times. Any failures at at the end of any quarter or mid-quarter check in point will result in a suspension until the academic issues are fully resolved.
TIDALWAVSE members should conduct themselves ethically, morally, and honestly at all times.
TIDALWAVSE members will not have any more than two unexcused absences from meetings or their membership will be in jeopardy. Expected absences must be reported to the president or either advisor in advance of the meeting.
Perhaps most importantly, TIDALWAVSE should expect random indulgences in natural highs to include but not limited to playing in a big pile of leaves, eating far too much candy, participating in birthday kidnapping, swimming far too late at night, helping little kids pick out holiday presents for their parents, running around a Burger King playground, rally around someone going through a difficult time, and staging a welcome back party for someone returning from drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
